About Us

Race Basics was started back in 2006 by speedway driver Steve Potts.

With his knowledge from within the sport and his Metal Trades background, a few of the people Steve was racing with began asking if he could source a few parts for them.

 Steve thought about the idea of starting his own parts supply business to add to his current business activities and Race Basics was created. While initially this was just about supplying a few parts here and there for his fellow racers to supplement his own racing activities, it quickly grew to more than that in a very short time.

Race Basics Oxley now supplies speedway parts all over Australia to many different racing classes, we have a strong EBAY presence and our online store continues grow rapidly.

Not only is Steve an acomplished AMCA Nationals racer but he is also part of the National Technical Commttee and can provde specialist advice on AMCA Nationals racing to both new and existing drivers.

Our sole focus is to provide our customers with the type of service that they wouldn’t normally expect to receive from some of the larger parts suppliers. Whether you wish to spend $2 or $200 we will do our very best to look after you and give you the same level of service and expertise.
